Dance and Folk Music Performance Glamorizes the Traditional Culture

SHNU: Recently, the SHNU College of Music held two performances for teachers and students at Fengxian campus as well as the neighborhood residents. The beautiful dance and music showed the professional qualities of the performers and the charm of traditional Chinese culture.

On April 23, the SHNU Dance Troupe performed Blossom, an original dance that had been carefully prepared for all year long.

The unique dance style and language were used in the whole performance. The factors of Dai nationality were integrated in the dance Water, in which a girl was walking towards the audience quietly and gracefully, like an ambassador of spring. And the Golden Lion Dance combined the features of the pop dance and the Shanghai lion dance. The excellent show received sustained applause from the audience.

The Folk Song Concert on May 13 was specially held to promote folk music among students at Fengxian campus. Students performed the traditional Chinese instruments and classical folk songs, accompanied by a teacher’s professional explanation.

Dedicated to carrying forward the socialist core values, SHNU Department of Public Communications organized these activities as part of the plans to further enrich the students’ life at Fengxian Campus and promote the national culture.
