22 Apr 2015

On April 18, the first day of the 2015 International Nature Conservation Week, Shanghai Nature Museum was opened to the public. Among other universities of Shanghai, 58 SHNU volunteers took the lead in providing voluntary service. They were called little green nautilus named after the nautilus shape and the green grass of the museum.

The volunteers welcome the visitors with passion in different exhibition halls. Zhou Jing, a student in SHNU College of Humanities and Communications, said that she enjoyed the pleasure and satisfaction in offering public service. “I have worked in different venues and each time I get different feelings. This time the perfect integration of science and aesthetics gives me a new recognition of life,” she said.

It is reported that SHNU has recruited nearly 500 volunteers who will carry out long-term voluntary service in Shanghai Nature Museum. The little green nautilus will act in accordance with the spirit of “Contribution, Friendship, Cooperation and Progress” to contribute their lot to the civil service.
