SHNU: On March 18, a party with the theme of “We are a big family” was held for the new teachers by SHNU Labor Union and the Department of Human Resources.
Teng Jianyong, SHNU Party Secretary, made a passionate speech. “I myself am a new comer here and I’m proud of being a member of SHNU, the big family”, he said. Teng pointed out that SHNU has contributed a lot to the basic education of Shanghai, hoping that all the new teachers combine their own dream with the dream of SHNU to build herinto a high-level comprehensive university with distinctive features of teacher education.
The SHNU authorities gave books to the new teachers entitled Eternity of Teacher Morality and Being a Man, Being a Scholar and Being a Teacher. Prof. Zhou Zhongzhi, the national outstanding teacher and Prof. Li Lizhen, advanced worker in education of Shanghai, shared their feelings through years of teaching. Ma Xueying and Yin Ziwei, two new teachers under their guidance, shared their experiences and achievements since they entered the university.
All the participants celebrated the birthday for 5 new teachers who were born in March and appreciated the beautiful songs sung by teachers of the Music College. They also experienced the charm of Shanghai culture in learning the Shanghai dialect.
