Official from Shanghai Municipal Education Commission Lectures on Undergraduate Teaching

SHNU: On May 23, Prof. Lu Jing, Deputy Director of Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, made a report on undergraduate teaching to SHNU authorities and over 200 teachers and executive staff of SHNU at the invitation of the university.

Lu talked about his own teaching and managing experience in Fudan University and East China Normal University. He pointed out that a university should care for the students’ needs, offer them opportunities of self-motivated study, experiencing diversified cultures and doing scientific researches. “A teacher is responsible for a student’s brilliant life, and the student will make our world more brilliant.”He ended the report with such a sentence.

SHNU Party Secretary Lu Jianfei spoke highly of the report, saying it’s vivid, original and inspiring. Lu also pointed out that teacher education is essential for the development of the university and that we should make teacher education the name brand of SHNU by improving the teaching quality.
