SHNU: Witty and wise diplomats Mr. Zhao Qizheng and mild yet rational diplomat Wu Jianmin arrived at SHNU to start a conversation with SHNU young students. The two pioneers of diplomacy shared their life and work experiences in their speeches themed Talk Creates a Better Life. Mr. Zhao is now the Dean of College of News of China Renmin University and the Director of Coastal Development Research Institute of Nankai University, and former Director of News Office of China’s State Council, etc. While Mr. Wu, boasting over 50 years of diplomatic life, is now Vice Director of National Innovation and Development Strategy Research Institute, member of Consulting Committee of China Ministry of Foreign Affairs, former Director of News Department of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, former Chinese ambassador in Netherlands, and former counselor of Permanent Mission of PRC to the UN, etc. The students also discussed about Shanghai urban development planning and recent diplomatic hot issues with the two former diplomats. |
