SHNU: A delegation of 24 from the University of Canberra paid a visit to SHNU on May 19. Prof. Wu Cheng, director of SHNU International Exchange Division, delivered a welcome speech and made a brief introduction of the university.
Dr. Yang Fan from the SHNU College of Education made a speech about basic education in Shanghai, triggering heated discussions among the foreign guests present. He started with the description of the Outline of Long and Medium Term Plan of Educational Reform and Development in Shanghai and then talked about the education of Shanghai from kindergartens, junior high to senior high middle schools. After the meeting, the foreign guests visited the university museum, talked with students from SHNU Foreign Languages College and conducted experiments together with students from the College of Life and Environmental Sciences in their lab. They would start an 8-day internship in Tianshan No.1 Primary School, where they would participate in the teaching activity and play with the students there. |
