A Great Success -- the International Food Festival of ICCS

16 May 2014

SHNU: On the afternoon of May 14th, the International Food Festival opened on the lawn in front of the buildings of ICCS (International College of Chinese Studies). Students from all over the world had prepared for this festival. They were dressed in their national costumes and shared their delicious food with all the other participants.
The festival began with the vivid descriptions of the distinctive food on site which attracted everyone. Some foreign students also showed their fantastic singing and dancing skills. All the diners were lucky enough to have a taste of Turkish’s meatloaf, Korean pickled cabbage as well as a variety of other tasty foods from a dozen of countries, including Thailand, Mongo, China and so on. Every participant had three stars to vote for the countries whose food they favored most. At the end of the festival, the blackboard became too full to have space for another food. Students from different colleges at different grades came and had a whale of good time there. All the students wished this festival to come again.
All the “student cooks” and audience showed great enthusiasm for this festival and had a good communication with each other. This is really a great chance for students to learn more about the cultures of different counties.
