Rector of University of Haifa Israel (UHI) Visits SHNU for Cooperation

SHNU: A delegation of three led by Professor David Faraggi, Rector of University of Haifa Israel, visited SHNU and talked with SHNU authorities about the possibilities of cooperation between the two universities. The participants included Mao Xuncheng, Assistant of University President, Professor Yang, Vice Dean of SHNU Life and Environmental Studies and Professor Wang from Department of Philosophy of SHNU.

Professor Faraggi kicked off the conversation by saying that it has been the second time he visited SHNU and discuss issues concerning further cooperation. He briefed on the basic situation of UHI and hoped to create cooperative opportunity of educational programs, such as 3+1 (3 years of learning in SHNU plus one year in UHI). Particularly, he urged to establish cooperative relations in fields of economics, finance and business. Also, he talked about the chance of teacher exchanges in finance, banking and insurance with SHNU, and proposed a three-week short session. Professor Mao made a brief introduction of SHNU and hoped that both sides could conduct cooperation starting from business and spreading to agricultural sciences, life and environmental sciences and even religion studies.

An extension program of MOU has been suggested between Haifa and SHNU. Faraggi also encouraged more students from Department of Asian Studies to learn Chinese cultures in SHNU.
Both sides exchanged gifts and the visitors were shown around SHNU College of Finance and Business.
