SHNU: An appointment ceremony was held in honor of Martin Kern who was engaged as distinguished professor of the national key discipline of SHNU--Comparative Literature and World Literature on May 5. SHNU Party Secretary Lu Jianfei issued letter of appointment to Dr. Martin Kern.
Prof. Liu Yunhua, director of Research Center for Comparative Literature and World Literature, presided over the ceremony. After the ceremony, Dr. Kern delivered a lecture to teachers and graduate students entitled “The Concept “Authors” in Shi Ji (Historical Records)”. As one of the chief editors of internationally known Sinology journal T’oung Pao, Dr. Kern is now the chair professor and dean of East Asian Studies Department of Princeton University. |
