On April 21, the SHNU delegation headed by SHNU President Zhang Minxuan paid a visit to Cornell University (CU) of the United States and received by its President David Skorton and Vice President Fred Logevall who is in charge of international exchanges of the university. Zhang briefed the development of SHUN during recent years, expressed gratitude for the great support of Shanghai municipal government towards the cooperation between the two universities. He hoped that the cooperation could train more talents for Chinese tourism industry. David Skorton said CU was inclined to cooperating with Chinese partners in the way of setting up education entities in Shanghai. The two parties discussed the running patterns, long-term and short-term programs of the cooperation and reached an initial intent. CU is home to the nation's first colleges devoted to hotel administration, industrial and labor relations, and veterinary medicine. Both a private university and the land-grant institution of New York State, Cornell University is the most educationally diverse member of the Ivy League.
