Seminar on Cultural Communication Starts in SHNU

SHNU: Sponsored by Public History Research Center of SHNU College of Humanities and Communication, academic seminar on cultural communication was initiated in SHNU from April 18th to 20th. With the themed of Regional Culture in the process of globalization: how Jiangnan Culture Goes to the World, it involved more than 30 experts and scholars to attend.

The seminar centered around three issues, the development of business society, the immigrants, and the realistic perceptions of modern China.

Meanwhile, possibilities of training of China’s public history university teachers were probed. The training class would kick off in SHNU from July 18th to August 2nd. Cooperative agreement between SHNU, History Department of Princeton University, Arts Museum of Princeton University, and History Department of University of Massachusetts has been reached for the training, which includes training on urban landscape and collective memories by Professor David Glassberg, public history and archives by Martha Sandweiss, Museum and Historic Site Design and Perceptions by Julie Dweck, and Public History and Museum by Julia Dweck, Martha Sandweisee & Esther DaCosta Meyers, etc .
