SHNU: Recently, Prof. Bian Zhenfeng from College of Life and Environmental Sciences and Prof. Zheng Wei from College of Humanities and Communications were awarded Shanghai “Dawn Scholar” of the year 2013. Bian’s project “Study on Surface Properties Regulation of TiO2 Used for Photocatalytic Degradation Mechanism of POPs” was funded ¥ 150,000 while Zheng’s project “Study on Evolution of Syntactic Marker of Wu Language of Ming and Qing Dynasties Based on Literature and Dialect Corpus” was funded ¥50,000. “Shuguang Program”, purposed for training talents, is jointly set up and managed by Shanghai Education Development Foundation and Shanghai Municipal Education Commission. This year, Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences and universities of Shanghai recommended a total of 122 young teachers to claim for "Shuguang Program" and 58 of them were funded in year 2013.
