Dance Troupe of Ehime University Performs in SHNU

SHNU: As the first performance of the 2011 SHNU International Arts Festival in the new semester, Dance AZ of Ehime University (EU), Japan staged a splendid performance on Xuhui campus on August 31.

      
SHNU President Zhang Minxuan spoke at the beginning of the performance. He expressed warm welcome to the performers and working staff of Dance AZ on behalf of the university. Zhang introduced the mission and history of SHNU International Arts Festival and wished the performance a resounding success.
     
The performance consisted of two parts:  “Ours” and “Revival”. The first part showed the features of Japanese cities, streets as well as its citizens through the video and different dancing styles of Hip-hop, sole and group dance. The second part showed Japanese performers’ determination to rise from the earthquake and expressed their deep gratitude and respect for Chinese people’s help. The performance won thunderous applauses from the audience.
       
 With the goal of creating the most inspiring works by university students, Dance AZ of EU has 55 members who come from all the colleges and departments of the university. Dance AZ has won many state level awards and they took part in the performance held by the Life and Sunshine Pavilion of the Shanghai Expo in June, 2010.
