SHNU:On March 22nd, Donald Bachand, Vice President of Saginaw Valley State University (SVSU), Yan Shanbang, Vice President of Taiwan Ming Chuan University, and two other guests visited SHNU, and were received by SHNU Vice Presidents Lu Jianfei, and Cong Yuhao.
Yan is no stranger to SHNU, for he visited SHNU several times during his tenure of office in Saginaw, and exerted unswerving efforts in promoting the mutual development between SHNU and Saginaw. After his retirement from Saginaw in 2007, Yan returned to Taiwan Ming Chuan University, yet still serving as a messenger between Saginaw and SHNU. This time, Yan enabled the visit of his successor, the incumbent vice president of Saginaw, to SHNU for further development.
Lu Jianfei expected more exchanges of teachers and students, and Cong Yuhaosuggested that there should be more opportunities for long and short term students exchanges.
A cooperative agreement was signed by which an education management staff of SHNU would be invited to start a 6-month visit to Saginaw every year.
Founded in 1963, Saginaw boasts over 80 majors, and the College of Economics and Management is accredited by AACSB, and the College of Education acknowledged by NCATE. Among its 11,000 students, 600 are international ones.
