SHNU: On the morning of March 14, accompanied by relevant people from International Exchange Division and International College of Chinese Studies, SHNU Vice President Lu Jianfei visited Japanese students studying in the university.
Lu talked with the international students, and, on behalf of all the SHNU teachers and students, conveyed condolences to Japan over the earthquake, tsunami and radiation leak threat. Lu also expressed the university’s willingness to help.
Fortunately, up to now, the family members of all the 60 odd Japanese students are in safety, including those from Miyagi Prefecture, one of the worst-hit states in Japan.
On March 11, Japan was hit by a devastating 9-magnitude earthquake, the biggest one to hit Japan since records began 140 years ago. It may have killed more than 10,000 people and swept away everything in its path, including houses, ships, cars and farm buildings on fire. There are also worries about threat of nuclear meltdowns.
