SHNU: SHNU President Li Jin and Vice President Lu Jianfei cordially received the delegation from the University of Missouri (UM) on February 17.

Present at the meeting were Brady Deaton, President of UM, Li Zhang, Dean of China Office of Department of Economic Development of State of Missouri, and relevant staff from SHNU Department of Publicity and International Exchange Division.

The two sides discussed issues concerning the establishment of Confucius Institute (CI) in UM, and both thought that as a platform of disseminating Chinese language and culture, CI would play a significant role in promoting cooperation in academic researches, teacher exchange and student internship programs between the two universities.

Founded in 1893, UM has a reputation of excellent teaching and research and offers more than 265 degree courses. It is the flagship campus of the four-campus University of Missouri System.
