SHNU: On December 28 and 29, the International Conference of Intercultural Communication was held in SHNU for the second time after its first success in 2008. The theme of the conference is Intercultural Adaptation and Transformation which targets at promoting international communication and academic exchanges so as to contribute to the development of Intercultural Communication as a discipline.
The morning of December 28 marked the beginning of the conference. Scholars and experts from many intercultural associations, universities and research institutes both at home and abroad attended the opening ceremony.
In his speech, SHNU Vice President Lu Jianfei remarked that SHNU had continuously expanded its communication and cooperation with overseas universities. Lu said SHNU would do its best to integrate the university development into internationalization.
The conference received 142 excerpts from 14 countries. 6 plenary meetings were held together with 21 group discussions.
The International Conference of Intercultural Communication was held every two years by Foreign Languages College of SHNU. It has become a brand meeting of SHNU after several years’ efforts and has made great impact on Shanghai and even the whole country.
The conference serves as a platform not only to promote the high-leveled academic exchanges between scholars from home and abroad, but also to enhance the cultural communication both for universities and for the society at large.
