Vice President of Botswana Conferred the Title of Honorary Professor of SHNU

    SHNU: On July 20th, M. S. Merafhe, Vice President of the Republic of Botswana, came to SHNU for a visit and was conferred the title of honorary professor of the university.

    Also present on the occasion were relevant officials from Botswana’s Ministry of Trade and Industry, Embassy of the Republic of Botswana to China, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, and Foreign Affairs Office of the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government. SHNU President Li Jin and Vice President Lu Jianfei received the guests.
   
    At the ceremony, Li briefed the cooperated achievements that have been made by the University of Botswana and SHNU since 2008. He also mentioned the Confucius Institute and the African Research Center of SHNU, hoping that more in-depth cooperation will be conducted in the near future and the friendship of the two countries will continue from generation to generation. Li wished the National Pavilion Day of Botswana to be held the next day a resounding success. 

    M.S. Merafhe accepted the letter of appointment from Li Jin and made an enthusiastic speech. After the ceremony, the visitors went to see a picture show entitled Walking into Botswana.
