In the golden autumn season, over 800 students from more than 70 different countries around the world arrived at Shanghai Normal University, which brought new vitality and diverse cultural elements into the campus.
The registration period from September 22nd to 23rd saw the International Student Center bustling with international students in order for enrolment. Under the guidance of the International Exchange Office, volunteers from the International Student Association meticulously organized the registration process for international students. The entire registration process was divided into seven key steps, starting with new students collecting registration forms, followed by identity verification, visa policy and safety briefings, visa checks, medical appointment scheduling, campus card and smart campus binding, and finally receiving care-filled welcome packages. Each step was smoothly connected, maintaining a well-organized on-site atmosphere. The volunteers became a bright highlight at the registration scene. With fluent Chinese and English skills, they patiently explained each step to the new students and warmly guided them through various registration points.
Jiang Mingjun, Vice President of Shanghai Normal University placed great emphasis on the international student registration process, personally inspecting the scene and engaging in friendly conversations with the students. Leaders from the International Exchange Office and teachers from the center also remained on-site throughout the process, addressing questions and assisting international students in completing the registration procedures. After completing registration, international students will embark on their academic journey at various colleges and majors within Shanghai Normal University, covering categories such as graduate students, undergraduates, pre-college students, and exchange students. Many of them are deeply interested in Chinese language and culture, eager to study further, while also being curious about China's rapid advancements in science, technology, economics, and trade, looking forward to experiencing the charm of this international metropolis Shanghai.
