Over 10 SHNU Teachers Listed in Database of Top-Cited Scientists

Recently, a team led by John P.A. Loannidis, a Stanford University professor, updated the list of top 2% scientists in global science fields and launched the September 2022 data-update for Updated science-wide author databases of standardized citation indicators at Mendeley Data of Elsevier (based on evidences from 1960 to 2022). According to the list, more than 10 SHNU staff memebers are included.

The lists included two parts. As for the Lifelong Science Impact List, 11 SHNU teachers were included: 6 from SHNU College of Mathematics and Mechanical Engineering, 4 from SHNU College of Chemistry and Materials Science, and 1 from SHNU College of Information and Mechanical Engineering. As for another list of 2022 Science Impact based on that of last year, 17 SHNU teachers were included: 8 from SHNU College of Mathematics and Mechanical Engineering, 5 from SHNU College of Chemistry and Materials Science and 3 from SHNU College of Life Sciences and 1 from SHNU College of Information and Mechanical Engineering.

Classified into 22 scientific fields and 176 sub-fields, the scientists candidates, required to publish at least 5 papers, are judged from field-and-subfield-specific percentiles. Career-long data are updated pertain to citations received during calander year 2021. The selection is based on the top 100,000 scientists by c-score (with and without self-citations) or a percentile rank of 2% or above in the sub-field. 195,605 scientists are included in the career-long database and 200, 409 scientists are included in the single recent year dataset. This version is based on the Sept. 2022 snapshot from Scopus, updated to the end of citation year 2021.
