SHNU: The 13th Oriental Daughters’ Festival opens at Room 101, Waibinlou Building of SHNU on March 30th. By merging cultural traditions of women in the east and future vision of wisdom cities, the festival attracted scholars and experts to gather together and chant poems and songs on the campus grasslands. It brought fond experience of traditional women culture of the east.
Originated from the March 3rd of Chinese lunar calendar, the Day of Girls could be traced back to more than 2, 000 years ago. It was a traditional way for girls to express life aspiration for life and future family. Started from 2005, the SHNU College of Women Culture picked up the traditions and endowed new meaning to that day.
The festival this year falls into two parts: Advanced Forum of Wisdom City and Women Development, and Kunqu sharing and memorial ceremony of flowers.
