SHNU：On March 20th, the newly-revised historical Peking Opera Chunqiu Erxu was staged at SHNU Xiafei Theatre for SHNU teachers, students and some local citizens. The opera won high acclaim and applause from the audiences.
Rather than stressing the traditional presentation of right or wrong concept, the opera had heated debate around characters’ personalities. It described two different figures: one sticks to family fury more, while the other chooses to abandon decades of chagrins and assume national responsibilities. The show also brings into play some western musical instruments to create a more desolate atmosphere.
