First Play of SHNU International Drama Club Wins Acclaim

SHNU: On March 5^th, Seagull, 1^st play of SHNU International Drama Club wound up with their last performance at Xiafei Theatre, which won unanimous acclaim from the audiences. Tickets could rarely be acquired for the four consecutive days of performances started from March 2^nd. Created by famous Russian novelist and dramatist Anton Chekhov, the play would be transferred to Pudong Lanxin Yue Cubic Hall and performed for 8 days. It has been reported by various local media, including Youth Daily, Shanghai Daily, and STV, etc.

 

The play is also one of the program series of Shanghai Pudong International Drama Masters’ Class. The SHNU International Drama Club, initiated in March, 2015, was created by a Frenchman studying sinology in SHNU for many years. This play can be regarded as an international artistic production of incorporating Russian classic plays, Chinese actors and their French counterparts.
