Closing Ceremony of Chinese Language Classes Winds up in Botswana

SHNU：On February 21^st, the Closing Ceremony of 1^st Chinese Language Classes for Adults was held in Botswana by CI (Confucius Institute) of University of Botswana (UB). The CI of UB is co-sponsored by SHNU. It was attended by President of Botswana University of International Science and Technology, and two vice presidents, Chief of Palapye, where the university is located, Vice Dean of College of Humanities and Literature of UB, and Foreign Dean of CI of UB, Chinese Dean of CI of UB, and other representatives of the Chinese Language Classes.

Otlogetswe Totolo, President of Botswana University of International Science and Technology, encouraged the graduates to work hard and thanked all for efforts made to UB and CI of UB. At the ceremony, the Chinese teachers volunteers performed Chinese martial arts and Taiji to display the connotations of China’s Gang (Hardness) and Rou (Softness). The volunteers sang Huangmei Opera to illustrate the bizarre story of an ancient Chinese female characters.

Started at the end of 2015, the CI of UB established Chinese language education base at Botswana University of International Science and Technology and enrolled adult students since the October of 2016. The students are scheduled to finish their learning in three months.
