SHNU: On December 27th, the 2016 SHNU Directors Conference of Foreign Affairs was held and SHNU President Ziqiang Zhu addressed at the conference and planned for the work in 2017. It was also attended by Directors of Foreign Affairs of various SHNU departments and foreign affairs assistants and relevant department directors.
The main overseas exchange activities and main foreign affairs work were reviewed, including those of students exchange, overseas students’ education, business trip, overseas experts and campus international culture construction. In 2016, overall more than 1,000 students went abroad for long-term or short-term exchanges or internship programs. 500 people joined 310 visiting groups overseas. 34 volunteers of Confucius Institutes went for teaching in 12 countries. 2, 089 students were in the cooperative education programs, accounting for 10 percent of the number of all students. 23 international cooperative agreements were signed with 19 universities or research institutes from 11 countries and regions. 18 international conferences were held in SHNU.
