SHNU: Themed History and Future, the International Symposium on Traditional Chinese Operas was held in SHNU at Oriental Land Resort of Qingpu District, Shanghai on December 2nd. It aims at expanding the vision of opera arts research and exploration of opera history protection and heritage.
Academic reports on artistic features of classic, arrangement and repairs of records were delivered, followed by heated discussion. The speakers include university professors, folk artists and media actors and workers, as well as records collectors. Perspectives on how to protect the traditional operas have been brought forward in different ways. It is agreed that the digitalization of opera records should accelerate and calls for further financial investment.
