SHNU: Gao Daozhou, SHNU Professor from College of Mathematics and Mechanical Engineering and Oriental Scholar of Shanghai, published a research paper as the first writer on Scientific Reports, the sub-journal of Nature. In the paper, he introduced the recent achievements of discovering Zika Virus on the basis of his math modeling by cooperating with a few other applied mathematicians, statisticians, and epidemiologists.
After the publishing on Scientific Reports, Gao was interviewed by Guokr, a well-known scientific popularization website. After that, he was also reported by the University of Miami, Science Daily, Eurek Alert!,Newswise,Health Medicine Network,Science2.0, Medical Xpress, and Science Newsline, etc. Ever since 2015, Zika virus has plagued over 60 countries and area, including Brazil, Columbia and Salvador, etc.
Professor Gao joined SHNU in December 2015 and his main research field is math and epidemiology, differential equation, and population ecology.
