SHNU: On April 5th, Galin Tihanov, member of European Academy of Science and professor of Queen Mary College University of London, was invited to deliver an academic lecture on World Literature before and after Goethe. It was hosted by professor Chen Hong from SHNU College of Humanities and Communication.
The lecture probed on the development of world literature and its conditions before Goethe, and various connotations of world literature. He also argued against the contentions on world literature held by different scholars.
The speech inspired the audiences for an artistic understanding of world literature. The students exchange views with Tihanov after the talk.
