SHNU: On March 21st, the Indoor Chorus Group and SHNU Choir brought to the audiences a thrilling feast of music at Fengxian Theatre of SHNU. It was sponsored by SHNU, Maynooth University (Ireland National University Maynooth) and Irish Consulate in Shanghai.
SHNU Vice President Ge Weihua extended warm welcome to experts and guests home and abroad and invited all to experience the unique arts glamor of both countries and wished a complete success for the global touring performances of the Irish Chorus Group. The Indoor Chorus of Maynooth University is known as the best singing group of Ireland and once won the champion at Choir of World International Chorus Contest.
This year, it would start its global tour in 7 cities and SHNU is their first stop.
The same afternoon, Michael Dawson, the director of Maynooth Choir presented an open lecture to the teachers and students on the theme of Singing Irish Music by Voice and Some Perform Skills.
The classic folk songs Kalinda, the theme song May it be of the Lord of Rings, violin concerto songs Aisling and There is another Sky and other traditional Chinese songs were performed.
