Fukuyama University CI Holds Chinese Speech Contest

SHNU: On January 24th, Fukuyama University CI (Confucius Institute) held Chinese Speaking Contest, Spring Festival Reunion Feast, and Chinese Folk Music Performance on campus. It attracted over 100 local Japanese citizens and members of CI to attend and was also reported by local news media.
 
Local time 9:30, January 24th signaled the start of Chinese Speaking Contest and involved 12 candidates from Japanese middle schools and universities. It falls into three parts, theme speech, Chinese and cultural knowledge writing test and talent show.
At noon, a feast was prepared for participants, followed by interactive activities, such as tasting Chinese dishes, games, riddles, singing, traditional Chinese musical instruments performances and drawing lots, etc.
Youth performers from Osaka staged a thrilling folk music concert for the audiences. They played erhu, Hulusi, and bamboo flute, etc. They also taught audiences to sing folk songs, which pushed the atmosphere to a new height.
