SHNU: On October 18th, the Inauguration Ceremony of SHNU Shiafei Theatre and Debut of the Would Be Gentleman (created by French writer Moliere) were held at east SHNU campus. It was attended by Vice Director of Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, Vice Director of SMG (Shanghai Media Group), SHNU leaders, and more than 100 other guests of various circles in Shanghai.
The SHNU Xiafei Theatre is one of the few practice theatres in universities of Shanghai. It covers an area of 1, 613 square meters, and the main stage is 500 square meters. It originates from the names of the Hong Kong donators the Lee Family----Fei Lee and his wife Shia Hsia. Hsia is an outstanding actor of 1930s in Shanghai, and Lee is a textile businessman in Hong Kong and donates for education institutions to commemorate his wife’s special feelings for arts education.
