The 2022 Fall Opening Ceremony for New Semester was held on September 20th in form of both live broadcasting and on the scene. Altogether, 5,048 undergraduates and 3,439 postgraduates gathered for the ceremony. It was also attended by SHNU authorities and representatives from various schools and colleges of SHNU.
The SHNU President Yuan Wen expressed her gracious welcome to the new students and hoped that they would inherit the morale of Learning to Stick to the Perpetual Morals as Teachers while fighting against all difficulties in the way of pursuing knowledge and truth.
The teachers’ and students’ representatives from SHNU shared their viewpoints on encouraging new students to promote their international vision and innovative skills and practice abilities and try their utmost to dazzle like the Shanghaishida Star ( recently named after SHNU). The SHNU Party Secretary Lin Zaiong helped the newcomers with their university badges at the ceremony.
It ended in sonorous university songs and flying flags and drew viewership of over 20, 000 people online.
