June every year is a grand event for Cultural and Natural Heritage Day. On June 13th, the traditional cultural experience activity of Ink-writing Production was held at the ancient book reading room of the library. Representatives of Chinese and foreign teachers and students from the SHNU School of Humanities, ICCS ( SHNU International College of Chinese Studies), School of Fine Arts, School of Mathematics and Physics, Graduate School, as well as heads of relevant functional departments.
The purpose of this event is to use Huimo, a traditional cultural treasure, as a cultural ambassador, and to bring cultural heritage closer to more people in a visible and tangible way. Through immersive experiences of Huimo production techniques, we aim to deeply understand the essence of cultural inheritance and innovation, and inject new vitality into the protection and inheritance of cultural heritage.
As a precious treasure in traditional Chinese ink-making techniques, Huimo has a long history of production and excellent skills preserved for thousands of years. The Huimo Craftsmanship has been selected as one of the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage representative projects. This event invites Chinese traditional craft master Wang Zaiqing to personally visit the scene and pass on the Huizhou ink making skills to both Chinese and foreign teachers and students.
At the event, the speaker introduced that Huizhou fragrant ink featuring traditional Huizhou ink craftsmanship and modern medicinal ink craftsmanship, combined with the latest technological formula. Each participant has enhanced their understanding and knowledge of intangible cultural heritage techniques, and in the process of writing, they have engraved their passion and love for excellent traditional Chinese culture. What is particularly gratifying is that this Intangible Cultural Heritage+Experience activity has also won strong interest from many international students.
