On June 10th, the Shanghai Normal University (SHNU) sponsored a themed salon event on The Application of AI in Educational Scenarios at Jiaoyuan Building. Representatives of foreign teachers, returned teachers from overseas, international exchange offices, teacher work departments, and overseas Chinese federations participated in the event.
This salon focuses on cutting-edge applications of artificial intelligence, leveraging the dual advantages of multilingual+professional skills of returned teachers from overseas. It introduced the research progress of SHNU research team in AI-enabled artistic creation to foreign teachers, and conducted on-site demonstrations on how mainstream AI in China generates teaching videos and its application in reshaping education. Through salon activities, foreign teachers can more conveniently understand and use mainstream AI in their teaching and research work, as well as gain a better understanding of China.
The foreign teachers attending the conference actively exchanged and discussed with the speaker on the operational skills and application scenarios of China's local generative AI tools in education, and expressed their willingness to form an academic community to carry out interdisciplinary research and application together. This is not only the first innovative attempt of a team of overseas returnees and foreign teachers to come together and discuss education, but also lays a solid foundation for sustained and diverse Sino-foreign education cooperation in the future.
