On May 20th, in order to continue the essence of Chinese culture and promote the revitalization of intangible cultural heritage classics, Shanghai Normal University (SHNU), in conjunction with the Shanghai Kunqu Opera Troupe, held a themed event to support the integration of culture and education under the project High Art in Campus. National Second level actor and Kunqu Opera performer Ji Yunfeng was specially invited to give an art tour to teachers and students.
At the event, Teacher Ji Yunfeng gave a speech titled The Differences in the Martial Arts of Kunqu Opera. Through knowledge explanations, skill performances, and interactive experiences, he vividly demonstrated the unique artistic charm of Kunqu Opera, known as the ancestor and teacher of all forms of opera and the mother of Chinese opera. He feasted the audiences’ eyes with the beauty of Quyi, the richness of culture, and the presence of cultural figures.
This time, through a three-dimensional presentation, teachers and students were able to appreciate the exquisite and unparalleled Kunqu opera art, and also built a dialogue between traditional aesthetics and modern life. In the next stage, the school will continue to carry out a series of activities such as intangible cultural heritage workshops and lectures on traditional skills, further activating the cultural genes in China's excellent traditional culture and allowing the rich cultural heritage to continuously nourish a beautiful campus.
