Recently, the first Shanghai district level research report on science education in primary and secondary schools in Shanghai, the Blue Book and the Fengxian District Science Education Research Report (2025), were jointly released by SHNU School of Architecture and Engineering, Shanghai Fengxian District Education College, and Shanghai Fengxian District Science Popularization Promotion Association. The Blue Book analyzes the current situation of internal medicine education in Fengxian District, including curriculum construction, faculty allocation, and experimental teaching facilities. Through in-depth analysis of research data, it provides scientific basis for future scientific education reform.
The Blue Book shows that the current teacher-student ratio needs to be balanced. It is suggested that schools and governments should develop scientifically reasonable teacher recruitment plans based on the number of students and scientific education needs, attract more professional scientific education talents, and optimize the proportion of teachers’ positions.
In addition, there is a possible lack of venues for science education in Fengxian District, insufficient supply of science books, and delayed replacement of obsolete scientific instruments.
The Blue Book also concerns the issues of faculty and funding, textbooks, and teaching aids, etc.
