Sponsored by SHNU Department of International Affairs, the 2022 Spring Festival Celebration Party was held at SHNU International Students’ Center on January 30th. Over 40 international students who remained on campus gathered together for this particular festive activity.
The SHNU International Students’ Center took on a new look that day with decorations of antithetical door couplets, gift packages and (gift) flowers, along with other auspicious mascots. Jiang Mingjun, SHNU Vice President, delivered a warm speech to celebrate the Chinese New Year with the students. He started with the relationship with (China’s) 12 Chinese zodiac signs and 12 hours in timekeeping, interpreting the close tie among the time of daybreak, the Year of Tiger and the symbolic meaning of the New Year. He spoke highly of the positive attitudes of the students and extended his gratitude for the efforts they made for the epidemic prevention work in SHNU. He sent his best New Year wishes to the international students in the conclusion.
The celebration also included interactive games concerning Chinese characters and calligraphy shows, etc. It ended in songs and dancing performances of the international students.
