Vietnamese Minister of Education and Training Visits the SHNU UNESCO Teacher Education Centre

On the morning of December 12th, the Vietnamese education delegation, led by Minister Nguyen Van Thien, visited the UNESCO Teacher Education Centre (hereinafter referred to as the Centre) and had in-depth discussions with the Centre on the development and cooperation of teachers between China and Vietnam. The Vietnamese delegation consists of 11 members, including key officials from the Ministry of Education and Training, the President and Development Commissioner of the University of Social and Human Sciences affiliated with Hanoi National University, the head of the Education Department of the Vietnamese Embassy in China, and Consul General of the Vietnamese Consulate General in Shanghai.

Yuan Wen, President of Shanghai Normal University (SHNU), looks forward to reaching more consensus with Vietnam, further promoting cooperation in the field of education, and working together to promote the common development of education in both countries.

Ruan Jinshan pointed out that despite significant achievements in education and training in Vietnam with government support, there are still some challenges, such as teacher shortages and imbalanced subject structures. He looks forward to strengthening cooperation between the Joint Education Center and Vietnam, jointly supporting teacher training programs, and making important contributions to achieving sustainable development.

The Vietnamese representative highlighted the challenges they encounter and the support they need for language, curriculum training, and teacher development. They hope that with the assistance and guidance of the Center, Vietnamese teachers can achieve faster and higher quality development in education.
