The six-month-long Soldiers’ Talent Star for University Students in Shanghai was held in November 26th. Wang Ao, a retired student soldier from SHNU, won the title of Talent Star with the top total score and delivered a speech at the awarding ceremony.
After rounds of selections, Wang stood out from 152 candidates to win the title. He served the Military Academy of Science of PLA (People’s Liberation Army of China) and once acted as the reportor for Military Academy of Sciences Press. He published 32 essays at this press and awarded such honors as Ten Best Reportors, First Prize of Annual Military Essay and Outstanding Soldier of Compulsory Service.
