The 2024 Shanghai Overseas Security and Civilized Campus Contest jointly organized by the Foreign Affairs Office of the Shanghai Municipal People's Government, the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, and the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism and hosted by the Shanghai People's Broadcasting Station, and fully supported by the Bank of China Shanghai Branch and the Shanghai Magnolia International Friendship Exchange Foundation. The annual finals and award ceremony was held on November 16th at the Shanghai Broadcasting Art Center.
Three undergraduate students selected by the School of Tourism represent SHNU in the final competition. With rich knowledge reserves and sufficient preparation, as well as strong psychological resilience and excellent on-site performance, after nearly 5 hours of intense competition, the SHNU candidates have won the championship. Besides, SHNU won the Best Guidance Award and Best Organization Award.
During the event, the organizers fully utilized their media advantages by entering university campuses through live radio broadcasts and expert lectures, engaging in deep interaction with teachers and students. Starting from real-life cases such as overseas student safety and prevention of telecommunications and financial fraud, the knowledge and skills of safe study abroad were widely disseminated. Moreover, promotional materials such as insurance brochures were distributed for free to raise awareness among teachers and students about overseas safety and knowledge of insurance security.
This year's competition attracted the attention of 49,866 audience on the KFM98.1 WeChat voting platform, with a total of over 210,000 votes cast.
