On invitation of Mr. Migual Cardona, Minister of United States Department of Education, Huai Jinpeng, Head of Ministry of Education of China, attended the International Education Peak Conference sponsored by US Department of Education, OECD and Education International. SHNU professor Zhang Minxuan, was also invited to attend the conference as member of Chinese representative group and delivered his speech at the meeting. It attracted 15 ministers and education officials, teachers’organizations and education research groups from more than 20 countries to discuss about All-age Education of Children and Teachers’Professional Capacities and Interests.
Professor Zhang briefed on two priorities of development for the current China: revitalizing rural education through national plans and developing information technology education to promote teachers’information abilities. He also shared three recent measures adopted by China: cooperative sponsor of young teachers’teaching contest between government and teachers’union, prolong the after-class service of school while reducing students’academic pressure, focus more on students’physical and mental health while strengthening training of teachers so as to upgrade teachers’perceptions of coping with students’emotional and mental puzzles.
