The 1st Dream Cup Shanghai Debating Contest Final for University Students was held at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics on October 27th. The SHNU team stood out to become the runner-up.
Started since May 19th, the contest lasted 5 months with 89 heated debate and involved 664 candidates from 57 universities in Shanghai. The topic for the final is Shanghai Shall Focus on Innovation or Civilization to Become an Outstanding Global City? The SHNU team took the pro side. Every year, SHNU students of various colleges competed in the contest with a participation rate of over 97.5 percent, involving more than 500 students to join every year.
