On the morning of September 14th, the 2024 International Student Opening Ceremony of Shanghai Normal University (SHNU) was held at the Multi functional Hall of Jiaoyuan Building. More than 400 international freshmen from over 40 countries attended the opening ceremony.
Vice President Jiang Mingjun warmly welcomes international freshmen to join the school family on behalf of all teachers and students, and expresses sincere gratitude to the leaders and teachers of various functional departments and colleges for their efforts in promoting the education internationalization of SHNU. Subsequently, President Jiang stated that our school has been closely focused on the fundamental task of cultivating virtue and nurturing talents, and continuously optimizing the education system.
The SHNU is striving to provide a high-quality learning and exchange environment for international students from all over the world. Students are expected to work hard to learn, be proactive, constantly improve themselves, and become outstanding talents in various fields with international perspectives and cross-cultural communication abilities in the era of globalization.
Enkma, a doctoral student from Mongolia, and Andrew, an undergraduate student from the United States, respectively spoke as student representatives. Enkma encouraged new students to bravely face challenges and continuously improve their professional knowledge and cross-cultural communication skills. Andrew, by starting from his own journey of learning, shared his aspirations for future campus life.
According to the statistics, more than 600 international students were registered at SHNU, including over 400 diploma students (majoring in 55 domains of 16 colleges) from about 70 countries worldwide.
