It as attended by over 100 representatives from China Education Association, Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, Beijing Normal University, Nanjing University, Fudan University and directors from other universities, middle schools and primary schools. Another 60, 000 people joined the forum online for exploring the same topic.

The Director of UNESCO Teacher Education Center, Professor Zhang Minxuan, pointed out in his speech that it is necessary to establish world standard teacher evaluation system in the new era. Judging from the historical evolution and changes of expressions in terms of international teacher evaluation, it is clear that teacher evaluation should be a source of teacher development, instead of “a source of pressure”. It is time for teacher evaluation to change from “teacher assessment” to “teacher appraisal”.
