On May 10th, the 6th International Cultural Festival of Shanghai Normal University, with the theme of Gathering Diversity, Dreaming Together, and Joining the Future, was successfully held to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Shanghai Normal University. Zhang Yejiang, Deputy Secretary of the SHNU Party Committee, and Jiang Mingjun, SHNU Vice President, attended the opening ceremony of the International Cultural Festival. This cultural festival has attracted over 2,000 Chinese and foreign students from over 80 countries and regions, showcasing the diversity of world culture and witnessing the endless exchange and mutual learning of civilizations.
At the opening ceremony, Vice President Jiang Mingjun delivered a speech, stating that the International Cultural Festival upholds the beautiful vision of beauty and harmony”, and encourages young people from both China and abroad to jointly promote a better future of harmony but difference.
The opening ceremony of the cultural festival kicked off with lively and dynamic modern dances performed by students from Indonesia, Vietnam, and Russia. The theme performance of the cultural festival brings together a splendid collection of song and dance shows from various countries. The opening songs from multiple countries echoed the joyful and enthusiastic voices of young people. Students from Russia, Tajikistan, and Indonesia took the stage one after another, passionately performing traditional dances with unique ethnic characteristics and cultural charm. Whether it's the passionate and unrestrained Russian competitive dance, the lively and lyrical Tajikistan eagle dance, or the peaceful and festive Indonesian dance, they all won applause from the teachers and students on site. The second half of the performance brought together wonderful performances of Mongolian grassland dance, Vietnamese marching dance, French cancan dance, African drums, and guitar playing and singing by students from various countries. Finally, all students on and off stage danced together to the passionate music of Danza Kurudo, bringing the cultural festival into a large-scale celebration of joy. The SHNU international lawn party was also held, involving students from more than 20 countries to arranged their booths, and showcase a dazzling array of exotic handicrafts, cuisines, clothing, and other eye-catching items.
