On April 24th, a team consisting of undergraduate students Yang Junyu, Cheng Xi, Tan Jiaqi, Wang Guiyu, and Shi Qiwei, supervised by teachers Liu Yu, Song Yuping, and Zhang Lan from SHNU, participated in the final round of the 14th Zhengda Cup National College Student Market Research and Analysis Competition in Shanghai. After a fierce competition, the team ultimately won the national third prize, which brought honor to the university.
The 18 SHNU teams that have advanced to the Shanghai competition this year have achieved outstanding results, including two national third prize awards, five Shanghai first prize awards, six Shanghai second prize awards, and five Shanghai third prize awards.
Since its launch in 2010, the National Undergraduate Market Research and Analysis Competition has attracted nearly 2,500 schools (times) and more than 250,000 students (times) from all provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities in the mainland. The Competition is a first-class national competition among university academic competitions, recognized by our school as an A1-level event for college students. It is a nationally renowned national-level competition, supported by the government, recognized by enterprises, and actively participated in by university teachers and students, and a highly connected statistical teaching and learning platform across the Taiwan Straits.
This year, the number of undergraduate students participating in the competition reached a historic high, with more than 500 students registering for the competition, 383 of whom passed the online exam. It took six months to complete the competition. This entire process effectively cultivating students' teamwork spirit, statistical modeling, and data analysis abilities.
