In order to enrich the lives of students who remain on campus during the “May Day” long holiday (May 1st to May 5th), create a harmonious and joyful campus festival atmosphere, and promote a sense of responsibility for work and labor, SHNU has organized a series of diverse themed activities during the holiday period. These activities allow students to gain an appreciation for the joy of labor, compete in labor skills, and enhance their awareness of education through learning, thinking, and practice.
On the afternoon of May 4th, Zhu Huijun, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President of Shanghai Normal University, visited the students who were staying on Fengxian Campus to experience the intangible cultural heritage course of embroidery together with them. He also had a friendly interaction and exchange with those who participated in the career initiation course. He encouraged the students to have lofty ideals and aspirations, inherit national cultural traditions, actively participate in various campus cultural activities, and deeply understand the spirit of diligence and perseverance through practical labor practices.
It is reported that during the May Day holiday, the Student Work Department (Office), the Student Union, and the secondary colleges have carefully organized various festival activities, such as art experiences, cultural salons, coffee skills training, and themed movie exhibitions. Students who stayed on campus expressed that this year’s May Day holiday is a special International Labor Day. Although they stayed in school, the various activities have added color to campus life and it is an unforgettable experience.
