Zhu Huijun, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President of SHNU initiated the Special Recruitment Fair for Retired College Students, accompanied by Deputy Director of the Shanghai Veterans Affairs Bureau, and heads of the Employment and Entrepreneurship Office of the Shanghai Veterans Affairs Bureau, the Higher Education Office of the Shanghai Education Commission, the Student Office of the Shanghai Education Commission, the Shanghai Veterans College, the Shanghai Veterans Service Center, the Shanghai Military Support and Family Volunteer Service Corps, and the Shanghai Veterans Employment and Entrepreneurship Service Promotion Association, etc.
In 2022, more than 20 universities in Shanghai have undertaken the task of vocational education for retired soldiers, addressing and meeting the demand for educational advancement of retired soldiers. In 2024, retired college students who have undergone professional training in various universities are about to enter society, enter the workplace, and undergo market scrutiny.
It is the first specialized job fair in Shanghai to provide targeted services for the employment and entrepreneurship of retired college students, bringing together various military innovation enterprises and other enterprises and institutions to recruit talented individuals.
The job fair has set up a special area for military startups. The shared identity and experiences have enabled military entrepreneurs to better understand the characteristics of retired college students. The number of participated enterprises amounts to over 130, providing more than 2, 000 vacancies. Over 12,000 college students retired from the Army received online instructions on their resumes designs. More than 600 such students joined the fair on the scene with about 20,000 audiences watching online.
