91 year old composer He Zhanhao leads our school's Yulan Zheng(Chinese musical instrument similar to Zither) Troupe to perform Butterfly Lovers. The 2024 Shanghai Normal University (SHNU) Shanghai Spring Art Exhibition Week opens.
On the evening of March 30th, the Praise of the Times SHNU Shanghai Spring Art Exhibition Week opened with the He Zhanhao Guzheng Ensemble Concert at SHNU music hall.
Yang Haiyan, Deputy Secretary of the School Party Committee, teachers and students from SHNU School of Music, attended the opening concert. Adhering to the artistic concept of nationalization of foreign forms and modernization of ethnic music, the famous composer He Zhanhao never stops writing and still insists on creating in his old age. The 12 pieces performed that evening were popular ensemble works created by Mr. He Zhanhao for young children and young Guzheng enthusiasts, as well as some highly professional ensemble works.
The concert presents a fusion of classic and adapted works in its repertoire design. The performed pieces included some classic original works of Mr. He’s, as well as a few folk songs and Korean songs, adapted and arranged by him based on his works, and presented in various combinations such as zither duet, trio, and ensemble, etc.
