On the noon of March 20th, the 15th “Love Ignites Hope Charity Sale”, jointly organized by the Student Affairs Department and the SHNU Labor Union, was successfully held on both Xuhui and Fengxian Campus. Once the charity sale notice was released, the SHNU teachers and students responded positively by donating money and other goods. Zhu Huijun, Deputy Secretary of the SHNU Party Committee and SHNU Vice President, also attended the event to donate love and had a friendly talk with the students on the scene.
The charity sale site was bustling with students strolling at various loving-care stalls of this spring campus market. The volunteer members transform into street vendors with a clear division of labor, working together to manage the love booths. The charitable sale activity not only provides a platform for teachers and students to exchange unused items, but also acts as a stage for showcasing the characteristics of the college and demonstrating creativity with unique stalls. Those on sale include on-the-site handwriting paper fans, portrait painting, books, toys and daily necessities, etc. The splendid performances on stage attracted many teachers and students to stop and contribute their love. The school volunteer team also prepared interesting games, and a joyful and friendly atmosphere filled every corner of the campus.
The donations would be distributed to those poverty or disease-stricken students, creating an ambience of mutual assistance, warmth and hope. Since 2010, the “Love Ignites Hope Charity Sale” event has been a brand-name activity for student financial assistance and education in our school. It not only raises a large amount of funds for the “Xue Si Scholarship“ and brings warmth and hope to over a hundred university students with serious illnesses, but also creates a campus charity culture of unity and mutual assistance among teachers and students. Our school's financial assistance and education work will continue to uphold the principle of “truly serving others and being grateful to society,“ and we will practice small kindnesses to achieve great love, strengthen our social responsibility, and help students develop comprehensively.
